G Drive / Google Drive missing or not showing up windows file explorer

When a user says their access to the G:\ or Google drive desktop goes missing. There is a 99% chance the desktop app just needs to be reopened. Usually the cause of this to happen is because the Google Drive Desktop application updates itself and closes out. It needs to be reopened to finish the update.
It might appear completely gone from their file explorer or if they had the drive pinned they might get an error like this

To reopen the application you can usually just try searching "Drive" or "google in the windows start search bar and click on the application to open it.

To Confirm that the application is open and running in the background, you can click the arrow in the bottom right of your main monitor of windows and check the tray of background applications. If you see the Google Drive application icon and it's colored in you should be good to go. If you see the Google Drive icon but it is grayed out, that means you need to sign into or reauthenticate your Google account.

A computer reboot should also solve the issue.
